Today I was reading through my news feeds when I learned that Facebook just got a "Notice of Allowance" from US Patent and Trademark Office for a trademark on the word “face”.
Now I know that companies need to be able to protect what they created but patienting common everyday words is not right at all. I give facebook that they created the keyword facebook but they did not invent or create the word face. If the U.S Patient Office starts letting big business buy up and patient words soon corporate america will own the whole dictionary.
Allowing for this to happen can have a huge impact on your future freedoms and rights...
